Homebrew Xi Species Details

 

Xieans are very rare to be seen, Xieans were related to ancient primordial gods in a biological kingdom, the said kingdom went nearly extinct very quickly. xieans were blessed to continue to survive though after all there difficulties including discrimination, war, and plague, there are almost none left. the few that live go on adventures in an attempt to find another to make another. 

Ghastly

There bodies being made of gas is very strange when it comes to combat, when hit with bludgeoning or piecing damage you must roll a 1d4 and take that much less damage.

A Timeless Perspective

Xieans can live well over 800 years, giving them a broad perspective on events that might trouble the shorter-lived races more deeply. They are more often amused than excited. They tend to remain aloof and unfazed by petty happenstance. When pursuing a goal, however, whether adventuring on a mission or learning a new skill or art, Xieans can be focused and relentless. They are slow to make friends and enemies, and even slower to forget them. They reply to petty insults with disdain and to serious insults with vengeance. Due to there long lifespan they are more likely to view violence as a sport. 

Natural Arcana

Most Xieans are born with at least weak arcane power, and those who aren't learn it from a young age.

Wisdom gets +2 and a proficiency in arcana

Elves encountered outside their own lands are commonly traveling minstrels, artists, or sages. Human nobles compete for the services of elf instructors to teach swordplay or magic to their children.

Exploration and Adventure

Xieans take up adventuring out of boredom and hope. Since they are so long-lived, they can enjoy centuries of exploration and discovery. Xiean's also enjoy exercising their greater magical power, and adventuring allows them to do so. Some might join with rebels fighting against oppression, and others might become champions of moral or immoral causes.
