Homebrew Vulpine Species Details
The vulpine culture is not widely known, mostly because of the near-annihilation the race experienced at the hands of both the elves of Ethaari and the slavers of Qahei. Due to this, much of their history has been lost, and the vulpines are not ready to forgive those who took their culture away from them. They have a great distaste towards elves especially, but are unlikely to actively start trouble because of it. Vulpines are haughty, not stupid, and know better than to start a fight if they think there is a chance of losing. As they prefer to keep everyone at arm’s length, this makes them a mysterious lot and easy to blame for trouble that has nothing to do with them. However, this trouble rarely seems to find them, as vulpines have a good sense of when the crowd is turning against them and slink away before things get too heated. Though arrogant, vulpines are also extremely loyal. They are clever creatures and rarely bond with anyone, even other vulpines. When they do develop a relationship with another person, vulpines are often reluctant to admit it, fearing it will portray weakness. They attempt to hide their true feelings behind sarcasm or insults, whichever comes more natural to the vulpine—but once they have bonded with someone, they would do anything to protect them.
