Homebrew Zazriel Species Details

Zazriel families hold ancient heritage on Serath Prime, all able to trace their lineage back multiple generations to the reign of Balgor himself. Due to the mixed variety of races on Serath Prime, most living in close proximity to each other, Zazriel find themselves a melting pot of both culture and racial distinction. What always sets them apart from the rest, however, is their lion-like eyes and blue crest which will appear on their body. No matter what mixture of races or just how different their lineage is, all Zazriel share this feature akin to the God of Beasts himself. There also seems to be one race which stands among the rest of the clutter.

Proud Ancestry

Zazriel hold their ancestry above all other things. While none today can accurate trace a linage back to before Balgors leadership, all consider themselves the true natives of Serath Prime. In height, they are on par with most humanoids, ranging from under 5 feet to almost 7 feet tall with a weight of 100 to 250 pounds depending on their most prominent heritage. Males and Females vary wildly in weight and height and there is mostly no natural distinction between the two. Even beards do not give it away, as a female Zazriel might find themselves with enough dwarven ancestry to grow their own. All Zazriel with have piercing lion like eyes. Their blue crest will often be displayed with pride wherever it may appear, with their clothing focusing on that point.

The blood of several races will run thick within the Zazriel, but more prominent features from one will almost always dominate from the others. The wings of an Aasimar, horns of a Tiefling, the long angular skull of the Gith, large and powerful build of the Goliath, or the short stocky nature of the Halfling. Mixed within these predominant races of Serath Prime will be traits from the "lesser" races. Human, Dwarf, Elf, and even Dragonborn characteristics can make their way into the make-up of the Zazriel.

Zazriel have personal names given at birth, but they put their district names first to honor their heritage. They often take a form of their mothers name to trace their lineage. The name might recall an event or great deed from the past.

Zazriel Traits

Darkvision

Your cat like eyes are well adjusted to low light. You can see better than most in the dark. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can’t discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.

Ability Score Increase

When determining your character’s ability scores, increase one score by 2 and increase a different score by 1, or increase three different scores by 1. Follow this rule regardless of the method you use to determine the scores, such as rolling or point buy.

Age

Young dragonborn grow quickly. They walk hours after hatching, attain the size and development of a 10-year-old human child by the age of 3, and reach adulthood by 15. They live to be around 80.

Zazriel vary in size due to their mixed lineage, but typically are around 100 to 250 pounds and 5 to 7 feet tall. Your size is Medium.

Your base walking speed is 30 feet.
