Homebrew Beastling Species Details

Beastlings are a tribal nomadic people, originally hailing from the feywild or the beast lands. They are a race of powerful warriors, conquerors, and assassins. They’re understanding of nature and diverse species based abilities make for unique and varying adventuring companions.

Beastling Traits

Beastlings are a tribal nomadic people, originally hailing from the feywild or the beast lands.

Creature Type

You are a humanoid. You determine your appearance and whether you resemble any of your kin.

Size

You are Small or Medium (your choice).

Speed

Your base walking speed is 35 feet and you have a climbing speed equal to your walking speed.

Ability Score Increase

One Ability Score of your choice increases by 2 and two different scores by 1.

Languages

You can speak, read, and write Common, Infernal, and one other language that you and your DM agree is appropriate for your character.

Darkvision

You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can’t discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.

Roar

As a bonus action, you can let out an especially menacing roar. Creatures of your choice within 10 feet of you that can hear you must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw or become frightened of you until the end of your next turn. The DC of the save equals 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Constitution modifier. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus and regain expended uses on a short or long rest.

Serenity

You have advantage on saving throws against being charmed or frightened and to resist the effects of madness.

Skill Proficiency

You gain proficiency with two skills of your choice.

Beast Speech

Through sounds and small gestures you can communicate simple ideas Medium or smaller beasts.

Keen Senses

You have advantage in Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on hearing or sight.

Catfall

When you fall and aren’t incapacitated, you can make a DC 10 (Acrobatics) check when you land. If you succeed you take no fall damage and you land on your feet.
