Homebrew Boar kin Species Details

Wild Boar, sometimes also referred to as Wild Pigs or Feral Hogs, are a type of undomesticated pig that lives natively in North Africa and Eurasia but has become an invasive species in North America and Oceania after being introduced as livestock pigs that escaped and reproduced. There is very little fear of them going extinct, as they are one of the most widespread species on Earth. Wild boar live primarily in Taigas in their natural environments but can live anywhere with large amounts of brush to hide from predators, drinking water, and no regular snow. They are a highly adaptable species that can eat almost anything, eating an average of 4,000-4,500 calories per day. They are also incredibly durable due to their thick hides. They are a harmful invasive species, displacing native species, attacking humans, and destroying property. They are also known for raiding and trampling farmland. There are several methods humans have in use to deal with the problem, despite the extreme difficulty. These include ideas special farming techniques, fences and corrals, toxic bait, and hunting.

Boar kin Traits

Traits based off of real boars with explanations.

+2 Constitution, +1 Strength,

These are rather obvious, with Boar being relatively strong and being extremely hard to kill, both in real life and culturally significant stories.

Tusk slash

Boars in the wild have tusks in the form of their lower canines that can be between 10 and 12 centimeters long. They use these tusks to compete for females and territory, as well as to defend themselves against predators. This has translated in boar kin as a pair of tusks that they can use to slash at foes.

This uses their strength modifier and deals 1d6+Str on a hit. You are proficient with this attack.

Relentless Charge

Wild Boars attack by charging at their foe and striking with their tusks, after which they will back up and repeat the action as long as the victim is moving. They will only stop when the target is incapacitated.

If a Boar kin moves at least 15ft towards an opponent, they can spend their bonus action to attempt to shove an opponent to the ground, knocking them prone. The opponent must succeed on a strength or dexterity saving throw against a strength check or be knocked prone. This attack fails on targets one size or more larger than you.
