Homebrew Dracthyr Species Details

The dracthyr were created by Verimathrass, the Dragon Lord of Earth. Verimathrass was concerned at the rift between the Draconic Flights and the rest of the mortal races, and he knew a war was coming even though Gloriana, Dragon Lady of Fire, thought she could soothe tensions with only words. The dragonborn were slow, and dragonspawn fragile, but Verimathrass saw potential in the mortal races that had begun to emerge across the world. He created the dracthyr as ideal soldiers, combining the essence of dragons with the traits of mortal races. While the direct processes used were largely unknown, the dark history of the dracthyr were immortalized in the halls of Falisttax, Vault of the Earth. Countless experiments were conducted before anything even resembling a dracthyr could be created, primarily done so by experimenting on and augmenting dragonborn; often to horrific results.

While other dragonkin were sturdy and loyal, they lacked the cleverness and adaptability needed to fight the war that Verimathrass felt was sure to come against those who defied the reign of the Aspects. They would embody the might of all five draconic flights, instilled with the potential of the mortal races that had begun to spread across the world. They were to be the ultimate soldiers. Verimathrass fashioned the Unknown Creches as a secret training ground for the dracthyr. He also used the Oathbinder, an invention he created to infuse his dracthyr soldiers with his twisted form of Order magic, bounding them to his will. In a battle with Doom-Lord Kazzarak and the Legion, the Oathbinder was destroyed. Though Doom-Lord Kazzarak was sealed away, Verimathrass could no longer directly control the dracthyr without the relic and so deemed them a risk. He contacted his best friend and sister Sindragonia, Dragon Lady of Frost. beside himself and telling Sindragonia everything was falling apart and the dracthyr needed to be contained. They then struck at the dracthyr, at first they were confused as they looked highly up to their creator, some dismissed the claims, but soon after they found out the truth they began to fight back and a secret war ensued. After a decisive victory on the side of the Dragon Lords, they created a spell and places the whole land of the Forgotten Creches in a stasis spell and shrouded it within a blizzard that would deter anyone from landing on its shores. it was only 20,000 years later after both Dragon Lords were defeated after being driven mad by the temptation of the Mad One, that they blizzard subsided and the Dracthyr were freed from their stasis.
