Homebrew Ceratopsian Species Details

Horned dinosaurs with frills like Triceratops, Styracosaurus, Protoceratops, etc. Horned faces and large frills made for great intimidation, and these aren’t just for show, either! These bullheaded creatures almost certainly used those horns in defense.

Ceratopsians lived alone or in small herds led by a dominant male. Ceratopsians had difficulty staying in herds for too long due to their innate belligerence.

They are believed to have kept to their own kind more than most, and given their builds they would have been a serious threat to most carnivores. Nobody is sure just how the hierarchy of herds actually worked.

Tough and strong, the Ceratopsians made great front line answers to the Carnosaurs and smaller Raptors, but they were believed to be rather insufferably proud, and probably some of the least intelligent of Saurians.

Mr. Threehorn has his horns, frill, and some strength and endurance to keep himself healthy.

Ability Score Increase

Strong, very strong (+2 STR) and durable enough to deter most predators (+2 CON) but none too bright (-1 INT)

Horns and natural shields

Their horns are natural weapons they can use in battle, and their frills are natural shields giving them +2 AC

Proficiency

Ceratopsians will choose 2 simple weapons at a young age to wield and will practice til they come to 10 years of age, at which point they are given warhammers and maces to train with until they're fully grown. Also proficiency in bagpipes to make them that much more annoying.
