Homebrew Cave Geotic Species Details

Rocky Recluses

The Geotic are a reclusive cave race of sentient animated rock. These living minerals were created by a powerful warlock almost 100 years ago to serve as his army in an ancient war. The Geotic however did not much care for war or their creator so instead hid away in the underdark. Most Geotics live underground in vast cave systems. They rarely interact with any life other than the occasional Myconid or Dwarf in the mines. Because of this the Geotic don't actually have a spoken language but instead communicate in a series of taps and hits on their own bodies similar to morse code. They can sense vibrations and sounds very well and have no need for sight in the traditional sense. Geotics reproduce asexually by removing a stone from their body and leaving it in a pile of normal rocks. Eventually the rock assimilates into the pile and it forms into a baby Geotic.

Tribal and Resilient

Their culture is very primitive and secluded from other races. Their monarchy revolves around age, and the mineral composition of their bodies. The queen and other higher members of their society are made of mostly gems and have more crystals growing from their bodies. Though this seems unfair most Geotics don't care and are fairly laid back, content just working for the upper class and just existing underground. Because of this nature Geotic adventures aren't really a thing. They do however have a strong sense of family and individuality despite this. Geotic “tattoo” themselves by carving glyphs and patterns into their bodies. Primarily the face, eyes, arms and chests. These glyphs can be read by feeling them and often mark a Geotic in name, profession, or any other number of things
