Homebrew Demantis Species Details

Demons are ancient beings, some even older than our world. Since the dawn of time, some of them roam the mortal realm, luring poor souls into signing pacts and contracts with them. More "recent" demons are usually born from great amounts of negativity, and some might even be fallen Celestials. Meanwhile, The Mantis' history is mostly unknown as they never bothered to write any of it down. All that is known is that the males have gone extinct while the females are still around, leaving the females in search of humanoid males when their breeding season hits and the men they capture are never heard from again.

Both of these races being of Two different worlds means that these creatures are extraordinarily rare meaning that if you were to encounter one than you may be Lucky or Very Unfortunate. These Magnificent creatures are usually quite aggressive towards Avian like Races and any race that are related in some way of water.

Demantis Traits

Mantis are natural hunters that are emotionless and straightforward. At most they form small “villages” of roughly ten mantis at the most, and that is more for easier hunting parties. They are entirely fine with butchering someone as long as it’s towards living another day, as their entire ideology is very reminiscent of that of the Lizardmen: They aim to survive. They do not care who gets hurt in the process. Anything is or can be a valuable asset to make weapons or tools to aid in survival.

Darkvision

Thanks to your body being made for living in darkness, you can see in it. You can see in darkness as if it were bright light up to 30 feet and an additional 30 feet as if it were dim light.
