Homebrew Animated Armor Species Details
Yenz once accidentally brought her personal set of plate armor to life when she was fooling around with magic in her home one day. She was fascinated with the animated set of armor, and gave it the ability to speak, taught it everything she knew. She treated it like it were her own child, and set it free one day. It would constantly return to her like she was family until the day of her death.
Animated armor isn't exactly a common thing to come across, and they're not really respected by the races of the worlds they exist in, but they, ironically, are usually good hearted, greatful for the day they were brought to life.
Run of the Mill Armor
Animated armor suits aren't diverse, even when together. Most of them look exactly the same, minus size. They can range from dwarven size to goliath, and can even house awake and unconscious people inside their hollow bodies.
Long, Rusty Life
Animated armor can last far longer than any organic life, even without air, food, or water. However, it can rust or be damaged, which, if neglected, can destroy it.
EVERYONE’S SECOND-BEST FRIENDS
Most races don't respect or welcome animated armor into their homes, but if they do, said armor will be very greatful.
Elves. "Elves are an interesting people, their magical abilities fascinate me. They're pretty polite, but I'll forever remember the day I attempted to enter an elf village, a day I almost never saw the end of."
Dwarves. “They're quite rude, but they aren't all bad. Dwarves often mine the materials that create armor sets like myself, so I can't help but respect them above others.”
Humans. “Some humans are alright, but they are really dumb. Most of them attack me on sight, drive me out of their villages. They don't think, only attack.”
Immediate Curiosity
Animated armor, when brought to life, may feel an immediate sense of wonder, as whenever this happens, unlike the original races, the second it is granted life, it has perfect vision and awareness. For the first few years the armor is alive, it's interested by everything new that it sees.
