Homebrew Cerata Species Details

Never had I ever seen such a species as this. Nothing as extravagant, Nothing as bold, Nothing nearly as fascinating. How have I missed this? How have I missed such a specimen? Drawing closer, I took a closer look at the creature, my glazed over eyes drinking in every feature I could. It had no eyes. No, wait. It did. Resting under a thin layer of skin was what resembled two dark orbs peering back at me. Its bright, vibrant skin shone back at me: The rich reds and blues piercing my vision. Upon its morphed skull rested scalloped ruffles, the soft malleable skin protruding at an odd angle; Two antennas on either side of his head. Taking a step back, I took in the spikes that jutted out of its droopy back, the doughy skin allowing the spikes to bend softly at the ends. Covering it from head to toe was a slimy substance that squeaked loudly every time the creature shuffled on the chair. What was this specimen?'

Deriving from the planet "Marevena"; a solid planet covered solely in rich deep waters: Cerata's are just one of many native marine species that thrive on "Marevena". Hovering over the sea line, streams of water fill the air, seeping into the main body of water seamlessly; the vibrant aqua water and muted purple sky mixing into pink at the seem. A peachy sun shines down onto the water, faint stars filling the sky at all times. Many underwater caves litter the rock mounds, bright coral flourishing at every plane possible. Lengthy kelp sways in the soft waves, some even reaching the tippy top of the sea.

Large aquatic kingdoms stretch across the sand floors, each one containing a different species. The lack of natural resources makes surviving quite hard for the population; The Kingdoms often fighting for food and supplies. Cerata's are one of the more peaceful nations. Keeping to themselves, Cereta's prefer to keep to stay in their close-knit communities; rarely leaving their town, let alone their home planet.

With Seaslug-like features, Cerata's have varying structures and appearances. Some sport ruffle-like folds down their sides, and some don spike-like appendages along their spine. With this in mind no Cerata's look alike. Though, a common trait among Cerata's is their lack of visible eyes. Like many deep sea creatures, Cerata's use their sensor like appendages to sense incoming objects or people. While this doesn't hinder their abilities, It can be off-putting to others.

Some of their qualities include:

  • Ruffles
