Homebrew Amarillia Omne Comedre (The All-Eater) Species Details
Dr. Malachi's Notes: The creation of Amarillia Omne Comedere is Dr. Malachi Mycotoxin's greatest life work and is a hybrid species of 3 separate species of fungi 1st of all being Amarillia ostoyae which is characterized by its long and far-reaching root systems that take over entire forests and kill off trees by using all the nutrients available through both living and dead plant matter the second species being trametes verisicolor known for its plate-like shape and firmness which the new species uses as a way to harden itself, therefore, strengthen it lastly but not least we have the Ophiocordyceps unilateralis which is widely known as the zombie-ant fungus. Through the combination of these three I, Dr. Malachi have achieved something extraordinary though the first tests were... concerning, to say the least, I have now seen the true potential of this new strain after a slight accident involving my nosey supervisor. This is where I first found the Amarillia omne comedere's hunger did not just stop at ants but went as far as taking over the entire nervous system of humans, rats, dogs, cats, and even bears. With the structure taking more after the Amarillia it has long root-like systems of mycelium that it uses to reach its hosts and take its nervous system over. Where it slowly begins eating away at the host's nutrients, the potential for biological warfare is incredible there'd never have to be a friendly human causality ever again. Sadly however the experimental group had to be exterminated after I was accused of murdering my supervisor. However, I have a plan to continue my experiments by using the 3 backup colonies inside the prison for me to observe the parasitic behavior of a human host. Now that I'm within the acclimation zone of the prison I'll leave one of the colonies inside of the cafeteria's trashcan to let it grow to a good size and hopefully infect a janitor or some dumpster diver that missed meal time. Poor guy(I couldn't care less). It's now been my first 3 months in the prison and I'm getting moved to my permanent cell soon but I've lost contact with the colony, however, I don't think it's dead as I've noticed prisoners disappearing more and more and the night guards are looking on edge whenever they're at their posts. I've been moving through the first couple of parts of the prison, security is tightened, and I'm not sure I'll get away from the guards long enough to start a colony here but I'm going to try flushing the colony before I move to level 3, and see how it will fair in the sewer as I don't think there will be a way for me to properly observe its behavior. Hopefully, colony 2 will do well in the filth of this place but I'll be moving to the third level of the prison soon and once I am I think I'll wait for me to find a way into the vent shafts of the cell to release there and see if it can get a rat host or other small scavenger and make it into the final level of the prison for it to get a strong host and see what it is capable of when it has such a heinous host. Now that I've been put into my permanent cell I'm realizing how resilient the vent shafts are and it will take some time to get a good entry point into it for me to get the colony through it so I'll be siphoning food scraps out of the trash to feed it while I simultaneously get the materials and slowly file a wide enough hole to get the vial into it I have made a grave mistake I have dropped the vial and it alerted the guards so I had to rush and clean up and just shoved whatever I could in the vent shaft just before they came in I know I got a sizeable chunk of the colony in it but I'm not sure if it was the whole thing or not but the guards are doing a search of my cell. They didn't find my notes or any remnants of the vial so I think I might be in the clear temporarily and is time to build my system to get as much information as possible from other prisoners about the colonies because I can't wait for what they may cause to these cretins, these..... these scum...... the very bottom of the barrel...(the notes end here with scratchy and sporadic handwriting)
Amarillia Omne Comedre (The All-Eater) Traits
AdaptiveAdaptable
the ability to hijack the nervous system of most living creatures means that it can take snippets of its memory making it able to mirror the skills of the host or use the knowledge of the host gained in its life before the All-eater took over.
