Homebrew Blink Dog Species Details
A blink dog takes its name from its ability to blink in and out of existence, a talent it uses to aid its attacks and to avoid harm.
Blink Dog Traits
As an Blink Dog, you have the following racial traits.Creature Type
You are a beast and Fey
Size
You are Medium.
Speed
Your walking speed is 40 feet.
Fey Ancestry
You have advantage on saving throws you make to avoid or end the charmed condition on yourself.
Teleport (Directed)
As a bonus action, you can magically teleport up to 40 feet to an unoccupied space you can see. You can use this trait a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.
Teleport (Random)
As a Blink Dog you can choose to randomly teleport at will as part of your action.
To determine the location you end up roll:
1d4 x 15 ft to find the distance
1d10 to determine the direction
1-8 align to around you
9 is up
10 is down
If you would end up in a solid object you instead do not teleport and take 1d6 unmitigated damage
Keen Senses
You have proficiency in the Perception skill.
Dog Body
As a dog you lack the fine motor skills allowed to hands. When you are using your Paws for any Dexterity Ability Checks that require thumbs you have disadvantage.
Magic Items that go on feet, hands, or arms can be worn on any pair of legs. You can still only ever use one of each type (gloves, boots, bracers).
You have a claw attack that deals 1d6 slashing Damage and a bite that does 1d8 piercing Damage
