Homebrew Arcane Succubus Species Details

When I first came up with this idea, I misunderstood succubi's place in the DnD cosmology. The more modern lore says that they're found among both the Nine Hells and the abyss and classifies them as neutral evil, as their base. Historically I guess they've been almost exclusively demon aligned, but I styled mind as taking after devils. I think that still works okay, even if their nature isn't similar, they still got the *idea* of using contracts and being patrons to mortals from devils. But rather than souls, they use their contracts to generate arcane energy to feed off of. They exist within their own demi-plane as their core sanctuary, but frequently send agents and ambassadors to do their work in other realms. They likely spent some time in the faewilds before establishing their own sanctuary and when they "sleep", they enter a shared dream that mirrors their demi-plane, for ease of communication and closeness even when they may be physically apart.

-Feed off magic

-Consensual contracts to generate magic rather than feeding on the weave. Contracts involving pleasure of some sort are particularly potent (but can be left as vague as necessary! They do succubus stuff, but that's not what *Cyndra* does or anything I want to include in roleplay.)

-Existence in plane of dreams/astral/whatever while "sleeping", share a collective dream

-v collective society, refer to each other as "sister" regardless of age. Some bickering and competition is okay, but any harm to another succubus is considered a grave offense.

-Governed by a council of elders who made big decisions for their order, but plenty of others serve in more specialized roles and manage more minor things. Largely meritocratic, not bureaucratic.

-Lawful neutral, uninterested in the evil of other devils or demons.

-Maybe infused with fae magic, or spent time in the Faewilds to develop their dream magic?

-Relatively small group, 3-400ish. New succubi are created from raw magic, infrequently and only deliberately.
