Homebrew Axolotlian Species Details

Reef-Born Explorers

Axolotlians first came about a few hundred years after the first Tritons made themselves known to the surface world. Similar to their cousins they too lived and thrived under the safety of the waves. Most forming coves within coral reefs and subsequently taking care of the reefs to ensure they would have homes. When they became of age many axolotlians would venture from their homes, following their curative instinct to explore the world above and below the waves before deciding on if they wish find a reef of their own.

Gentle Souls

Being close to the surface and living in such open communities have left the axolotlians as very social creatures. In many cases they would be diplomats between sailors and sea creatures that felt threatened by the unknown, and shared such a role when helping dissuade the animosity between the haughty Tritons and the surface dwellers. Coming from such a social species they are often first to seek diplomacy rather than trying to use force when encountering the unknown, always seeking to nurture and grow rather than ravage and destroy, a trait that won them the favor of many lawful good races such as dryads, gold dragons, dwarves, and many paladin factions.
