Homebrew Canidae-folk Species Details

Snout and Fangs

The caninefolk sport a mouth of sharp fangs and teeth. This gives them a fighting advantage against many other races, and helps them eat and devour meat and flesh. The nose helps with sniffing and smelling out goods and dangers.

Along with the caninefolks unparalleled sense of smell, the caninefolk also spout a pair of ears. Ears that help find and locate objects, allies, and foes. These two abilities make the caninefolk great guards and helpers.

They also sport a tail that varies in shape size and colors. They help keep them balanced.

Canine Mannerisms

Caninefolk is a lot like their less humanoid cousins. Dogs and wolves. They are social creatures and live a life of loyalty and trust.

Some caninefolk decide to live a more natural life. They flee into the forests and lands, where they hunt and live in packs. They mate and eat. On some occasions, you can hear some of them howl at the moon.

The caninefolk are very terretoriel. The canines serving as helpers for families, often see the homes as their master's territory and will protect it with their life.

Homelands

The caniefolks are spread among the lands. Many are taken to the mansions and houses as helpers and servants, while others are left on the street to fight. Many live in forests and outskirts, where they hunt and survive, while others guard the cities and villages. The caninefolk doesn't have one simple environment to habitat in.

The ones that are taken as servants for the noble houses and families, often show pride and loyalty to those they serve. While the ones growing up in the street usually decide to join gangs and help with anything they can do. But one thing all of the Caninefolk share is their loyalty to their family and friends.

Great Purpose

Most canine live only to keep their friends and families safe. It matters not whether it's brothers by blood or a strong bond. Most don't seek a task. Though there are exceptions.

The caninefolk left on the street, usually only want recognition from whomever they see as alpha. Be it killing or stealing, they will do anything the alpha says, even if all they get is a pat on the back.

The Canines living in the secluded lands and forests, often only choose to live like their less humanoid canine cousins. They don't seek anything particular. Few of them decide to go from the pack. They have no problem seeking the carnal pleasure of any kind, and all too often get into situations with other foreign races. They will protect what's theirs, and if you step into their territory, you better run quick or have a good excuse.

The more noble caninefolk simply live the life they have been given. Thanking their lord and master for taking them in, and giving them a place to live. Although most do look down on the other lifestyles lived by canines, they usually decide to forget about their relation, even if it's family.

The guards often have little to say or to think. They do their job with pride. And protect the people.
