Homebrew Amberki Species Details

Blessed with eternal life, the Amberki walk among a dangerous world, no longer plauged by the burden of death and diease they once were so long ago. The Amberki are devout followers of the Deity of Longveity Inochi, and dream of one day ascending past this plane to join her in the Realms of Dreasul. They take what some believe to be the aspects of elves, despite being human themselves; love of the natural world, broader perspectives and aloof nature. The Amberki are an isolated people, slow to make both friends and enemies but just as slow to forgot them.

The Concept of Death

The Amberki have been blessed with their eternal life for many generations, those who were there to witness Inochi's emergence still living to this very day. Thus, the ideas of death once so intense for the Amberki have lost their importance. Death is something Amberki are not familiar with, they struggle to grasp the very concept of it. Amberki find the idea of somebody close to them suddenly never being able to enjoy the natural world around them gives them a sense of fear, thus they avoid short-life species like they're a plague. This can lead to many perceiving the Amberki as fools who simply want to cheat death.

Physical Changes

The Amberki have evovled from their human relatives in many ways since their blessing, to some they may even appear to be more related to elves than humans. Amberki have had a constant struggle of explaining to short-lived species they are no elves. They tower over their human counterparts, standing at over 6 feet tall to a maximum of 8 feet. They have many different body types, from the lanky, to chubby, to musuclar. Some Amberki have developed long droopy ears, although this is merely really only an appearance change.

Amberki can be spotted out by their odd hair colors, any possible color from blue to red could be on their heads. Most Amberki have dark, de-saturated hair, rarely do Amberki have light, creamy hair. The skin color varies from dark espresso shades to the palest white you could imagine. The Amberki are no strangers to human skin conditions like albinism and viltilgo. The eyes of Amberki are either a red-orange or a yellowy-orange. Some Amberki with albinism have pale red or even rarer pale blue eyes.

Longevity a curse.

The longevity blessed by Inochi is seen by the Amberki as a blessing, freeing them from death. However, as the centuries run on this blessing was being to affect the Amberki in other ways then just their long age. Symptoms of insanity began to crop up among the Amberki. It started off with simply quietness, becoming less social. A sudden depression and spiral into sadness and self-hatred. These symptoms were mental, atleast with the first few stages. It went from spirals of depression to fits of anger, before those inflicted with this insanity saw glimpes into what they perceived as the future. Then, true madness struck. The Amberki would become hostile, attacking all those in sight even those they deemed closest to them.

There was no returning once this true madness struck one's mind. Deemed a 'Lost Kiling' and left to wander the mountains below their home. However, these mountains soon became lush forests of tall white trees baring fresh golden fruits. As, the final stage had begun not too long after their loss of humanity. At first, a coughing of leaves and twigs. Then, the body grew stiff and the mind calmed from it's madness and became docile. Before, the cracking of bones and the shifting of limbs. A tree, once a Amberki.
