Homebrew Astravara Species Details

 

Seen as above human, to be worshipped or feared: This is the life of an astravara. They aren't any more omnipotent than your typical races that smatter the world, in fact an astravara can be born into any bloodline. They will often find that more is expected from them as apposed to the people who grow up around them and the expectations of their life looms large. Astarvara are a direct result of the dead god Solvere, The Fallen Star. His cosmic essence still emanates throughout the world of Jchyndaris. When a disciple of his is lucky someone in their lineage will be born as a Astravara.

Cosmic Lineage

Astravara can be born into any bloodline regardless of race, although astravara who have kids are more likely have their own kind. Decisions made by their heritage have left a massive mark on their appearance. Astravara have skin that copy what the sky looked like when they were born. If they were born at night, their skin looks like a star map, their pupils are lunar bodies, and their hair can bear a resemblance to a galaxy, aurora borealis, etc. If they were born in the day time, their skin looks like a bright blue sky, their pupils are bright suns, their hair can bear a resemblance to bright white clouds, snowfall, etc. Astravara can also be born and reflect sunrises, sunsets, twilight, dawn, meteor shows, etc.

Respected and Adored

Astravara exist as small minorities found in any city or town, often treated with grace and respect in those places. It is very rare for them to be trated with disdain or hatred. It is seen as an extreme gift from the gods to have astravara kin.

Astravara can trust that anywhere they go goodwill and fortune will find their way. They are typically quick to trust, but that trust can be broken much easier than most races.

Astravara mature at the same rate as elves but live a roughly 100 years less on average.

Astravara are a very tall race. They max out around 8ft tall and never dip below 6ft. Your size is Medium.

Thanks to your cosmic heritage, you have superior vision in dark and dim conditions. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. 

Aetheric Trace

Due to you intrinsic connection with aether, you can copy a spell quickly after it was cast. When you witness a cantrip or a 1st-level spell you can copy it immediately as a reaction without expending a spell slot, once per long rest.

Grace of the Heavens

Thanks to the cosmic energy flowing through your body, you have a flying speed of 30ft.
