Homebrew Canataur (Puppy Person) Species Details

Packs of these nomadic, Dog-like humanoids interact with as many people as they can, having a great need to be social and to make sure their friends are safe.

This means they can be found across all the continents of this world attached to courts and caravans alike, wherever sentient creatures gather these fluffy peace keepers will be found.

Noble and Loyal

These Humanoids are fierce friends and amazing employees. they are willing to walk through hell for those that they deem deserving, and when they give their word it is next to impossible for them to break it.

Canataur (Puppy Person) Traits

Your Canataur character has the following racial traits.

Ability Score Increase

You can choose one ability score to increases by 2, and another score too increases by 1.

Age

Canataurs mature and age at about the same rate as humans.

Alignment

Canataur tend toward good alignments. Canataur who are focused on the pack lean toward lawful good.

Size

The average Canataur is 6 feet tall, but they can be up to 9 feet tall or as small as 3 depending on bloodline.

Speed

Your base walking and swim speed is 35 feet.

Darkvision

You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can’t discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.

Jaws

Your maw is a natural weapons, which you can use to make unarmed strikes. If you hit with it, you can deal piercing damage equal to 1d6 + your Strength modifier, instead of the bludgeoning damage normal for an unarmed strike.

Hunter’s Instincts

You have proficiency in one skill of your choice due to your Bloodline

Daunting Bark

As a bonus action, you can let out an especially menacing Bark and Growl. Creatures of your choice within 10 feet of you that can hear you must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw or become frightened of you until the end of your next turn. The DC of the save equals 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Constitution modifier. Once you use this trait, you can’t use it again until you finish a short or long rest.

Languages

You can speak, read, and write Common and one other.
