Homebrew Womble Species Details
Wombles are essentially burrowing animals. They have retractable claws (like cats), but as they mostly live in long-established burrows, they rarely use these even for digging. Their size and physical appearance has changed somewhat over the years: in the original editions of the books, Wombles are pictured as bear-like and between 3 and 5 feet (about 1–1.5 metres) in height, making them only slightly smaller than adult humans. This changed with the TV series where they were portrayed as being about knee-high to humans, with pointy snouts like those of raccoons. In the book and movie Wombling Free they are described as "short, fat, and furry", roughly between three or four feet (about 1 metre) in height.

Not-So-Naughty by Nature
Wombles are naturally disinterested in conflict and afairs of the wide world. Almost all Wombles are a neutral alignment because of this. Wombles that are raised to be aware of their surroundings and to have discresion fall closer to the Lawful side where as those with more easily described as free spirits are more chaotic aligned. There are exceptions where Good and Evil aligned Wombles exist but there is usually exteral influences that motivate then to have such ambitions.
Herbivores, or Trash cans?
Wombles are herbivores and are very fond of mushrooms. They eat a variety of plants, fungi, and tree products that human beings cannot (or will not) eat, so daisy buns, acorn juice, fir-cone soufflé, elm bark casserole and grassbread sandwiches are part of the Womble menu – augmented by any food left behind on the Common by human beings. This gives them advanced survival capabilities, Common folk gathering food for two people provides enough scraps for feed a single Womble. However if a Womble gathers food it is inedible by common folk.
All Weather Wombles
All Wombles are strong swimmers and can even survive for long periods in ice-cold water. Several sub-species of Womble are revealed throughout the books: the Loch Ness Monster is actually part of a clan of water Wombles and the yeti of the Himalayas are giant snow-white Wombles. These variants are just examples, Wombles could potentially inhabit most climates.
Natural Recycled Burrows
Wombles make their homes in a variety of places but they are almost all underground burrows. These burrow usual hose multiple Wombles and are decorated with the objects they reclaim and reuse. Most burrow are long standing and closely resemble a colony or commune. The contents of the burrow is directly associated with the area inwhich it exists, burrows close to cities tend to have more repurposed refuse where as in the wilderness the burrow is much more natural.

Seeing the World
Gnomes who settle in human lands are commonly gemcutters, engineers, sages, or tinkers. Some human families retain gnome tutors, ensuring that their pupils enjoy a mix of serious learning and delighted enjoyment. A gnome might tutor several generations of a single human family over the course of his or her long life.
Curious and impulsive, gnomes might take up adventuring as a way to see the world or for the love of exploring. As lovers of gems and other fine items, some gnomes take to adventuring as a quick, if dangerous, path to wealth. Regardless of what spurs them to adventure, gnomes who adopt this way of life eke as much enjoyment out of it as they do out of any other activity they undertake, sometimes to the great annoyance of their adventuring companions.

You can have up to three such devices active at a time.
When you create a device, choose one of the following options:
Clockwork Toy. This toy is a clockwork animal, monster, or person, such as a frog, mouse, bird, dragon, or soldier. When placed on the ground, the toy moves 5 feet across the ground on each of your turns in a random direction. It makes noises as appropriate to the creature it represents.
Fire Starter. The device produces a miniature flame, which you can use to light a candle, torch, or campfire. Using the device requires your action.
