Homebrew Cat Species Details

Small, feline companions, loyal to their humanoid master. They look to their master for protection and love, in return they provide assistance in combat among other things. These felines make up for their small size with surprising strength with attacks, devoted loyalty to their master, and some resemblance to intelligence, all though not much. Cats often choose to sleep, as rest is important to make hunting easier.

Physical Characteristics

Cats are small, furry creatures. Their fur coats comes in a variety of patterns and colours. Coat colours can be anything from black and grays, to whites, to orange and browns. They are rarely taller than 10 inches and weigh around 10 pounds, with males being slightly larger than their female counterparts.

Humanoid Companionship

If a humanoid creature tries hard enough, they can befriend the cat. If this happens, the cat will become loyal to them and see them as a master, and a protector. The cat will trust this person and make efforts to assist them how every they can. You basically become their pet.

Motherly Protection

Kittens are often born in litters of 2 or 3, sometimes 4 or 5. They stay with their mothers for the first 12 weeks of their life before not needing to be taken care of by mother and roaming out on their own. However sometimes they may stay for longer and in rare cases, never part from mom, going on adventures with her and protecting her as a token of thanks for the support in the early stages of life. The mother is very hesitant to let people near her kittens, but if they have good connections with they mother, then she trusts them enough to approach her litter.

As a mother of a litter, you make a constant effort to protect your litter, sometimes not even letting your master come near them until she deems them old enough. She will provide them with food and protection and will become upset if separated with her kittens.
