Homebrew Amalgam Species Details

"In the dark corner of the ice cave, an inky shambling mass slithered its way into its new shell. Tendrils reached out, hoarding metal and cloth, molding the materials to its will, and forming itself a new. Covered in a terrifying frost, the new shell emerged. Memories faded, in place for new ways of life. The next to human became animated, walking further and further out of its cave. It picked up the rusted shields of its fallen comrades, the body lending itself into the new armor. The warrior had one purpose in its new life, trek the dangerous snowy landscape in search of who ended its friends life. Vengeance, was its new purpose."

Amalgams are a race of inky slime like creatures. Similar to hermit crabs, they find armor or clothes to use as shells. Often, they cover most of their body this way. This regenerative process results in a new person each time they change. Their body finds these shells and animates them to become fluid and human like. Amalgams have less of an understanding of societal structures, tending to find community more important than social hierarchy. Additionally, this means things like names, gender, and social expectations are viewed differently by Amalgam societies.
