Homebrew Centaur V2 Species Details

The centaur are one of the few races of fae that began as humans and were never tricked. In fact, the centaurs were given a boon. The first centaur was an old druid with a strong connection to nature. Even as a druid however, he was not immortal. The being, no longer young enough to be considered human,  was on the verge of death from his old age. The druid had such a connection with nature that the significant force decided not let the druid die. the druid was transported through a mist, into a new realm. one where nature had a much stronger presence. Nature then gave the powerful druid a choice. What animal does he love enough to become? Before the man could truly think about it, his past answered for him. the horse. The being he would often shift to. The one he was most comfortable with. Nature called to its powers and a beautiful black horse came bounding out the trees. As the horse jumped at the man, the man was lifted by nature before leaves began to surround both the man and the horse in a facsimile of a cocoon. For a century, this ever-shifting cocoon sat in the center of the forest.

When a century had passed, Something new emerged from the cocoon. A being with the upper body of a human and the lower body of a horse. In the man's head, Nature whispered the name of the new being he'd become. A centaur.
