Homebrew Alatus Species Details
Alatus are winged beings that resemble humans with wings. They are a very proud species that do not take disrespect lightly.
Alatus Traits
As an alatus, you have certain traits in common with your people. Being able to fly at 1st level is exceptionally effective in certain circumstances and exceedingly dangerous in others. As a result, playing an alatus requires special consideration by your DM.Ability Score Increase
Your Dexterity score increases by 2, and your Wisdom score increases by 1.
Age
Alatus reach maturity by age 18. Compared to humans, alati don’t usually live longer than 90 years.
Alignment
Most alati are good and rarely choose sides when it comes to law and chaos. Tribal leaders and warriors might be lawful, while explorers and adventurers might tend toward chaotic.
Size
Alati range anywhere from 5 to 6 feet tall. They have different builds where some are light and thin while others are strong and burly. Your size is Medium.
Speed
Your base walking speed is 30 feet.
Keen Senses
Being used to high altitudes and viewing things from far away, you have superior senses than other races. You have proficiency in the Perception skill.
Wings
You have a flying speed equal to your walking speed. You can't use this flying speed if you're wearing Medium or Heavy Armor. You have a wingspan of 10ft. You must be in a space wide enough to accommodate your wingspan to fly. When you fall, you can use your reaction to make a Dexterity (Acrobatics) check (DC to be determined by the DM) to stop falling and hover in place instead.
Languages
You can speak, read, and write Common, Alatus, and Auran.
