Homebrew Azer Species Details
"Within the molten heart of the forge, where the flames dance and the metal sings, the Azer crafts the essence of fire into a form both fearsome and noble. A creature of heat and metal, their existence is an everlasting testament to the enduring flame that shapes their very being."
—Wintersinger, the Wise Firbolg Druid
The Azers, forged from the elemental fires of the Plane of Fire, stand as living embodiments of craftsmanship and flame. With fiery hair and metallic-looking skin, they are skilled artisans dwelling in the heart of mountains and volcanoes. Forged rather than born, Azers carry the legacy of their creators, each a masterpiece of fire and bronze.
Sculpted Flame
Azers resemble dwarves at first glance, but beneath their metallic exterior lies a being of living flame. Their fiery hair and beard flicker with inner heat. On average, they stand around 4 to 4.5 feet tall and weigh between 200 and 250 pounds. The color of their metallic skin varies, including shades of copper, bronze, and iron. Gender differences are subtle, with both males and females sharing similar features.
Fiery Determination
Azers are disciplined and focused, driven by a deep connection to craftsmanship and the elemental fire within them. They possess an unyielding determination to create and refine, often seeing the world as a vast forge full of untapped potential. Duty-bound and loyal, Azers value order, precision, and the mastery of their chosen crafts.
Molten Realms
Originating from the Plane of Fire, Azers craft their existence in the searing heat and molten landscapes. They also find a home in the heart of mountains and volcanoes, where the earthly forge meets the fiery depths. In these environments, they sculpt masterpieces from the gems and metals that shape their domains.
Exploration and Adventure
Driven by a desire to create and master their crafts, Azers often embark on quests to uncover rare metals and gems. They seek to perfect their skills and acquire new knowledge, making them excellent explorers and adventurers. The call of a distant forge or the promise of an unexplored volcanic cavern beckons them to venture beyond their familiar realms.
AN AZER'S PERSPECTIVE
Fueled by the inner forge of their disciplined and focused personalities, Azers, with their living flame and mastery of metal, often view themselves as superior artisans among the races.
Dwarves. "In their forges, dwarves create with skill, but it lacks the fervent flame that courses through our being. Their works are sturdy, but the soul of fire is absent."
Elves. "These beings of the forest seem to shun the heat and industry. They live in ephemeral beauty, but their craftsmanship lacks the endurance that only the flame can grant."
Humans. "Ambitious and diverse, humans tread the path of innovation. They may lack the patient hand of a skilled Azer, but their spirit for discovery is admirable."
