Homebrew Chthonian Species Details

Beyond the stars lie secrets that were never meant to be learnt, and horrors not meant to be found. For most of these things were not meant to be witnessed by the mortal mind. But life finds a way. When the stars align, a miracle is born. One of these miracles is the race known as the Chthonians.

Not Dead Which, Eternal Lie

Chthonians are descended from the great old ones, and are distant relatives of the mind flayers. As such, they bear many superficial similarities. They tend to have placid flesh that varies in tone from grey to green to blue. In front of their mouth is a mass of tentacles; and in general they are a mix of squid and humanoid.

Stranger Eon, Death May Die

Chthonians are naturally drawn to the sea. They live primarily in coastal regions, and occasionally form underwater civilizations. Due to their unsettling appearance they tend to be looked upon poorly. But they still look upon life with a jovial glee. Chthonians are commonly found as scholars or divers.
