Homebrew ASMD Species Details

An ASMD, or Autonomous Sentient Mechanical Doll, is a being created by a tech-mage. It has an inner frame of mechanical joints made of a strong metal compound, such as corundum. The outer shell, or skin, is made of a special porcelain. These beings have regenerative properties, and are self-repairing. They are made of a meld of magic and physical materials. Depending on the enchantments placed on them, they may be able to feel pain and emotion, but at a base level they can feel sensations. Unless properly spelled to, they cannot feel emotions, only emulate them. On the back of their necks are the symbols of their creator. If a living creature with a fingerprint touches the symbol, the doll will shut down and lose awareness, and it can be reactivated by touching the symbol again. Instead of sleep, ASMD's enter a trance, where they withdraw physical control of their body and simply remain as aware as they choose. They can enter and exit these trances as they choose. When in trance, an ASMD's body naturally regenerates and heals. On the upper and lower jaw of an ASMD, the canines and first premolars are longer and sharper than the rest of the teeth. An ASMD's body is incredibly anatomically accurate. ASMD's can be affected by electrical and magical pulses. When struck by such a thing, its limbs will jerk, and it will convulse, much like a seizure. For a short period of time after the pulse, its movements will be jerky, as the connections between the magic and the body have been disrupted. As well as that, it's voice will become glitchy. It is rare that an ASMD is a free creature, as dolls are generally owned. The ASMD's see no problem with this, except in rare cases.

Strong Bones

An ASMD's inner frame is made of corundum, one of the rarest and strongest metals in existence. This adds a +6 to constitution and strength.

Rational Mind

ASMD's are great observers and rational decision makers, because they don't feel emotions but can emulate and understand them. This adds a +4 to intelligence and wisdom.

Perfect Acting

Due to their ability to perfect emulate emotions, ASMD's are able to convince almost anyone if they choose to. This adds a +5 to charisma.

Darkvision

ASMD's have nightvision due to the enchantments placed on them whilst they are being created.
