Homebrew Cursed Fairy Species Details

These fairies retain some of the traits from their cousins who are not plagued with a need for revenge. They are small and appear friendly much of the time, but they truly have a hatred of all fae creatures and are indifferent to any other type. They have no qualms witnessing the suffering of others, and some even find enjoyment in it. The only races that they care for are those from the darkness and are twisted by anger in the same way they are. They use their beautiful or adorable appearances to lure people into traps and feed off their inherent magic. The only distinguishing traits between these and normal fairies are their small wings that are barely able to lift them, their slightly glowing eyes, and mysterious glowing lines that cover their bodies like cracks in porcelain. They will go to great lengths to hide these traits in an attempt to avoid suspicion.

Cursed Fairy Traits

With their cursed nature, these fae are granted unique powers that are found in no other race in this world, but perhaps they can be found in the next.

Ability score increase

Your dexterity score decreases by 1 while your charisma score increases by 2.

Age

Cursed Fairies' lives are significantly shortened. They mature at age 20 and only live up to 200 years, though many die before that.

Fae Ancestry

You have advantage on saving throws against being charmed, and magic can't put you to sleep.

Cursed Magic

With your ancestry abhorred by the gods of old, your queen granted your race special magic in her final breaths. Casting these spells do not use spell slots and cannot be canceled with Counter Magic. You can cast them at one level higher than their base stat, but this will take up a regular spell slot.

Invisibility

Because cursed fairies are so small, they are able to hide behind any object that is medium or larger to gain half-cover.

Languages

As a fae creature, you know Sylvan, common, and one other language.

Small But Mighty

As a branch of the fairy race, you are small but refuse to take shit from anyone.
