Homebrew Anisoptra Species Details

The whipping of wings was barely heard by the boar as an arrow struck it's lungs. This, as all things done by an Anisoptra, was intentional and calculated. In quick succession, two more arrows were knocked and released, and the hunt was over. The flying archer in question, Mici, calmly landed as they collected their hunt. Maybe tomorrow, things would change, thought Mici.

Only fools or idiots would dare cross Anisoptras as they make their way in the world. An epitome of focus, they live in their high-courts and severely complicated legal systems to ensure that only the strongest survive. If you are not driven to thrive for yourself, you can't be of service to anyone else.

Despite their harsh and complicated outlook on the world, Anisoptras often make an attempt to understand other cultures, if not out of self benefit, then for sheer curiosity.

Closed Reputation

Anisoptras' rather cruel reputation stems from their high gothic towers and rather judgmental demeanor. While they may not themselves be as harsh as their society, it's rare an Anisoptra will get the chance to express their feelings, and more rare that they'll take the chance if the opportunity arrises.

Anisoptras, on large, experience an outsiders view on the world. Rarely leaving House Blood and their courts, they hear about most of Roxfall through incredibly outdated texts, that depict a much crueler and older world than exists today.

Life is hard for everyone, even for Anisoptras. For the most part, they tend to protect that which is beneficial to them, and harm that which is not. Unlike the old traditions of House Hoolay and Sican, the law and order of House Blood acts as a method to ensure everyone gets what rightfully belongs to them and so on.

Selfish Neutrality

Many bugs of Roxfall would describe Anisoptras as cold and selfish, they wouldn't see it that way, though. Instead, they see it as a natural part of life, as if everyone should always solely be looking out for themselves.

Anisoptras lack strong ties to the past. While they can recall just as well as most other creatures, they don't look back on memories fondly or mournfully, but typically when they need to. If a memory or person, for that matter, is deemed as unimportant to an Anisoptra, they'll likely forget it instantly.

If they do leave House Blood, Anisoptras make a strong attempt to blend in with other bugs, though they stick out because of how little they leave the dark-stone castles. While the typical nature of insect society might not be their own, they do well to observe and reflect it, if just to get out of any potential societal danger that being themselves would create.

Survivalist

Anisoptras view the world in terms of their own potential success and ability to live. Not by the standards of if they are rich or famous, but if they're surviving in their current climate. They often view others out of their utility instead of their attitudes or actions. While some may see this as surface level, Anisoptras view it as necessary for living in this cruel world.

Uncaring Mentors

Even through their large cold eyes, Anisoptras make some attempt to nurture those weaker than them for some time, so long as the weaker beings show effort to get stronger. Afterall, even Anisoptras recognize that their is some strength in numbers, and someone you teach will often be willing to help you in the long-run.
