these people use to be of nomadic nature till they decided  that traveling as a whole was to dangerous so they split up into clan to help better their chance of survival. After decades each clan began to adapt traits that better suited their chosen profession. Some turned to blacksmithing  other turned to more basic things like hunting and fishing. One clan turned to mercenary work to put their skills to better use.
