Homebrew Blood Goblin (Hemogoblin) Species Details

Goblins which have gained an unnatural ability to drain their victims of blood are spoken of but never really seen. They are shrouded in mystery. Some say they are goblins converted to vampirism, or driven to subsist off blood like vampires. Others say they were a horrid experiment where the bloodsucking tendencies of stirges were implanted into the goblinoids. Regardless of how they came to be, hemogoblins are strange little buggers. They can be differentiated from normal goblins due to their skin being a grotesque mix of green and dark red veins, as well as a pair of fiery eyes and a notable proboscis for bloodletting victims.

Blood Drinker. You do not need to eat, but you can ingest food and drink if you wish, though this food is always bland and stale to you. If you go for longer then seven days without drinking blood, you suffer one level of exhaustion on the midnight of that day, which can only be removed by drinking blood. After consuming blood, you recover all levels of exhaustion. If you reach six levels of exhaustion due to this trait, you die. To drink blood, when you grapple a creature, as a bonus action, you may bite them, dealing 1d8 piercing damage and drinking their blood to fulfill your blood requirement for the day.
