Homebrew Soulbound Species Details
“A soul? In my doll? Father, is it okay to be messing with that stuff?” The little girl peeked over her father's shoulders while he stood over the intense flames.
“Lil' missy, I've forged with metals more delicate than souls and my fires're more than hot 'nuff to melt the very weave 'o magic" The muscle-bound dwarf said.
“I meant, is the soul okay with it?”
An experiment of a dwarf, the soulbound are animated using their enchanted amulets connected to a soul. Upon being linked to the amulet, the souls have no recollection of their previous life, save from very basic knowledge.
Best we could find
The souldbound were made to test a larger project with soul manipulation, so not much care was put into what they've been implanted into. It could be as complex as a large statue or as simple as a stuffed animal; however, they must be linked to a humanoid object. Their stats should attempt to resemble that of the item they are suggesting. For example, a large stone statue should have high constitution and strength but low dexterity and intelligence and such. All soulbound have amulets that bind the soul to the object. The larger the object, the larger the amulet must be and the more virtuous the soul can be. Not all large soulbound will take a virtuous soul, but the have the capacity to. More importantly, the soul has the ability to grow larger than before. They are modular and capable of being improved upon greatly.
While they may have originated from random things, the soulbound are living humanoids. Resting, healing magic, and the Medicine skill all provide the same benefits to the soulbound that they do to other humanoids. The soulbound can focus its mind on its body as it rests.
Soulbound Personality
The soulbound are the souls of the dead that wished to relive their life. They remember neither their life nor afterlife and only retained the basics of being alive. They adopt the personality of the person they were before but all of them have a distinct sense of curiosity that keeps them exploring.
While there may be some who have adopted the personality of charismatic individuals, the soulbound's facial features are limited to the object they are possessing. Statues cannot move their face without any mods and their mouths do not move when they talk. Puppets may move their eyes, eyebrows, and mouths but they won't be able to do much more. Many people would fine a soulbound uncanny in it's speech, making it almost creepy, especially when the soulbound is displaying acts of passion without any form of visual indication. This may be upgraded with the proper mods.
Quirks
Whether due to some flaw in their creation or simple ignorance of the world, the soulbound often acquire an odd personality trait or two. A soulbound player can choose to roll or select a trait from the soulbound Quirks table.
