Homebrew Demonic Faerie Species Details

Fae Bloodline

Dæmon Fæ are derived from human bloodlines and to some degree, they still look human. However, their Fae heritage has left a clear imprint on their appearance. Demon Fae have large, seemingly innocently round eyes. Their canine teeth are sharply pointed, and their eyes are a wondrous thing—black, red, white, silver, blue, or gold. Their skin tones cover the full range of human coloration. Their hair, cascading soft locks almost mythical to the touch, is usually dark and often black or brown - though variants exist in red.

Demon Fae Names

Demon Fae names are born from another culture and typically have names reflective of that culture. They can be as normal as a grain of wheat or as unique as each individual on the planet. Their names derive from others, mostly respected individuals or dreams. Many languages are used to describe the parents' wishes for their child to be royalty or wanting their bloodline to begin to gain in riches, their name reflecting as such. No name is unable to be used and no language is too good or unworthy of a beautifully unique name.

Self-Reliant, Suspicious and Stubborn

Demon Fae subsists in small minorities found mostly in human cities or towns, often in the roughest quarters of those places, where they grow up to be swindlers, thieves, or crime lords. Sometimes they live among other minority populations in enclaves where they are treated with more respect. However, there are the few brave souls who don't follow these typical traits and live (mostly) honest lives and do everything they can to use as many charms to hide their true, demonic form.

Despite having a homeland, Demonic Fae are stubborn creatures whether or not their path is dark or light, everyone else has to accept that. They are not quick to trust anyone who claims to be a friend, but when a Demon Fae's companions demonstrate that they trust him or her, most of which through life or death, the Demon Fae learns to extend the same trust to them. Their trust is hard to earn and difficult to break. Once they are an ally, they're an ally for life and will gladly throw their life for those they care for.

MUTUAL MISTRUST

People tend to be suspicious of Fey in general, assuming that their heritage has left its mark on their personality and morality, even if their appearance is not quite known to those who are unable to see through the many layers of charms they use. Shopkeepers keep a close eye on their goods when any fae variant enters their stores, the town watch might follow a Fae around for a while, and all misfortunes and strange happenings are blamed on Fae, none more apparent than the Demon Fae. The reality, though, is that a Demon Fae bloodline doesn’t affect their personality to any great degree. Years of dealing with mistrust do leave their mark, however, their way of dealing with and responding to it is just as unique as their name.

Demonic Faerie Traits

Demonic Fae tend to be graceful and as captivating as a dancer. They bring danger and mischief to those around them in spades. Their intelligent and manipulating and independent to a fault.
