Homebrew Wolvos [Revised] Species Details
Wolvos are anthropomorphic canis lupus that are a reclusive breed that are seldom ever seen due to their introverted nature. They stand anywhere from 5 feet to 7 feet tall and can weigh around 290-400 lbs. They are often seen in small groups of three or four or larger groups from ten to fifteen. These creatures are formidable and can be deadly due to their constant drive to seek weaker prey than them, and hunt their prey until exhaustion. They can be ruthless but, if you earn their trust they can be a valuable ally as long as there if fresh, raw meat on the table.
Wolvos [Revised] Traits
Advance Hearing and Smell, Pack Tactics, Silent Killer, Moons FuryAdvanced Keen Senses
Thanks to their evolved genealogy, this race has been adapting to surviving the Feywild. While in dim light, the Wolvos can physically see scent trails of other creatures and if the Wolvo has smelled the creature before, they gain advantage on Survival or Perception skill. While following the scent this way, they know how to find the creature even if the scent has been magically altered by a spell or illusion.
You also can tell if someone is lying based off the scent (pheromone) they give off at DM's discretion. You have proficiency in the Insight skill.
Fey Ancestry
Wolvos have an uncanny ability to resist magical effects that may cause them to act in different ways. They are resistant to being charmed, frightened, or possessed. They also gain advantage to shake off the charmed, frightened, or possessed conditioned.
Silent Killer
Thanks to their lanky frames and their ability to ambush prey, Wolvos can use the hide action as bonus action. In addition, when they are successfully hidden, they can do a special sneak attack that deals 2d6+proficiency bonus+ dexterity modifier with an unarmed strike (claws, or bite)
Surprised creature cannot take reactions and damage dealt this way is considered a Critical Hit. However, they Wolvos loses their vantage if the creature is alerted by their presence in anyway such as a successful perception check vs. the Wolvos Stealth check.
Wolvos can use this ability once per combat a number of times equal to their proficiency bonus.
Expended uses replenish on a long rest
Pack Tactics
When engaged with a hostile creature, as long as there is more than one friendly creature within 10 feet of a hostile creature, the Wolvos gains advantage on attacks. In addition, the Help Action is a free action as long as there is one or more enemies surrounding the friendly creature
Moonlight Fury
Thanks to their nocturnal resiliency Wolvos have adapted to reveling in the bask of the moons glow. While standing in moonlight (natural or spell) the Wolvo becomes energized with radiating energy allowing them to heal more quickly. Whenever they are subjugated to radiant damage by the Moonbeam spell, they heal for the damage that would have normally harmed them if they are below 1/4 their maximum health. If they stand in Natural moonlight, their unarmed strikes become magical dealing radiant damage equal to the Wolvos level.
