Homebrew Arisrtida Species Details
The grasshopper folk are known for their powerful legs, armored hide, iron jaws, and difficulty speaking. The Aristida are an insect race native to swamps and crag-land typically standing around 5-6 feet tall (double if the legs are fully extended).
With legs designed for massive bursts of power and speed; they also possess jaws capable of chewing through most things, giving them the ability to eat almost anything, and a tough carapace which camouflages with its surroundings. Unfortunately, their odd legs make them rather slow walkers.

You have advantages on STR based checks relying on your legs.

You may make a jump instead of a movement on your turn.
If you're jump action is interrupted by a surface you can freely use your remaining jump movement to rebound off in another direction. You can also take a leap equal to half your normal jump distance

As an action, you can change the color of your carapace to match the color and texture of your surroundings, giving you advantage on Dexterity (Stealth) checks made to hide in those surroundings.

If you make a melee attack after a jump movement you may add 1d4 damage( the appropriate type) for every 10ft moved before you made the attack.
