Homebrew Zerdini Species Details
The Zerdini are a species of fox-like people that have called the deserts of Panprocella their home for as long as they can remember. Some nomadic tribes of gnomes, elves, and halflings were aware of the Zerdini before the Age of Exploration, but their existence had remained mostly unknown until recent history.
This is likely due to the fact that the Zerdini almost exclusively live in the Windswept Region - an area of Panprocella that is not often explored. Another factor in the Zerdini being a mostly mysterious species is that they maintain a close-knit social structure, relying almost exclusively on networks of other Zerdini that live in underground burrows. While some of the Zerdini have made a life for themselves in the more populated areas of Panprocella, particularly Kenkari, the vast majority still remain in their native homes.
Zerdini are a small species coated in beautiful hair that varies in color - generally oranges, whites, and grays. They have small claws and teeth that they use to eat and protect themselves against threats. The most notable feature of the Zerdini are their large ears. A Zerdini’s ears allow it to give off excess body heat and to hear predators and prey from far away making them one of the most resilient species in all of Panprocella.
