Homebrew Anansi Species Details

 A race of spider-like beings, they were first created from the raven queen, who attempted to create a counter to lolth's elven subspecies. After several magical attempts, they created the Anansi, who later gave birth to the subraces of the weavers and stalkers. Anansi stands upright and resembles an elf but with a segmented jaw and has 4 long appendages sprouting from their back. Anansi society is made up of clans living in the upper layers of the underdark, with matriarchal leaders called brood mothers and weavers perform the day-to-day task and stalkers being their warriors. Anansi tends to shun their Underground sister species, the drow, but also avoid above-ground races due to racial violence, making their species shy and suspicious.

Age

Anansi mature over the course of about 7 years. Anansi males and females who do not become broodmothers generally live to age 40 or 50. Broodmothers can live for more than 140 years.

 

Alignment

Anansi's are generally true neutral as they spend most of their time simply hunting and gathering to support their community

 

Size

Anansi are medium being between 6 to 7 feet and weigh about 140 to 200 pounds.

Ability score increase

You gain +2 to Dexterity.

Spider Jump

your long jump is increased by 10 feet and your high jump is increased by 5 feet.

You are naturally proficient in stealth.

languages

You speak Common and Anansi. Anansi is a language of clicks and hisses with many harsh sounds interspersed. Anansi are able to speak common, but only very roughly as they have trouble with many sounds.
