Homebrew Artikin Species Details
Long ago, an artificer whose name is only recorded as "Master Avalon" decided, out of interest for creatures left largely unstudied, to conduct experiments on different naturally occurring oozes. During their studies, it was discovered that oozes are generally comprised of a material that holds intense inert magical energy, similar to that observed in a humanoid soul when channeling ki. Realizing this, Master Avalon hypothesized that oozes have the capability of becoming fully autonomous beings capable of intelligent thought if granted the proper conduit. While tinkering with the makeup of these creatures, Avalon eventually created an ooze capable of producing electrical impulses that mimicked that of a human mind attempting to engage emotional receptors. After years of work, Avalon perfected these creations and crafted a body that could, not only, act with the ooze's nervous system but could channel their ki in various ways. Master Avalon, believing these beings "Children of the Artifice" named them the "Artikin."
