Homebrew Aerathorns Species Details

Aerathorns are fascinating creatures that captivate onlookers with their unique blend of draconic features and elemental mastery. Standing at a diminutive height of 3 to 4 feet, they possess a slender and agile physique, hinting at their incredible speed and nimbleness. Their bodies are adorned with a multitude of small, iridescent scales that shimmer in hues of azure, silver, and frosty white, reminiscent of the serene beauty of a winter sky.

The most striking aspect of an Aerathorn's appearance is undoubtedly its dragon-like head. They boast elongated snouts filled with rows of sharp, glistening teeth, perfectly suited for delivering potent bites or unleashing their elemental powers. Adorning their heads are small, pointed horns that curve elegantly backward, adding to their regal and otherworldly aura.

Aerathorns' eyes are large and expressive, often reflecting the elemental energies they command. Their irises shift between icy blues and deep purples, hinting at the tempestuous nature of the winds they control. When in a state of excitement or during intense concentration, their eyes may even emit faint sparks of elemental energy, further emphasizing their connection to the air around them.

These creatures possess delicate yet powerful wings that span from their shoulders to their mid-backs. While their wings are not large enough to lift them in their deflated form, they serve a crucial role in their inflated state. Inflating themselves to a larger size allows Aerathorns to somewhat "fly", although it's a struggle due to their relatively small wing size compared to their inflated body mass.

Aerathorns' limbs are slender and finely crafted, with each digit tipped with agile claws that aid in their climbing and grasping abilities. Their hands and feet are remarkably dexterous, enabling them to manipulate objects with precision and grace. A long and flexible tail extends from their bodies, ending in a tuft of feathery scales that resemble a fluffy cloud, serving both decorative and practical purposes.

One of the most notable abilities of Aerathorns is their capacity to store elemental air within their bodies, which they can then unleash in powerful blasts of cold damage during combat. Additionally, they have the unique capability to inflate themselves to a larger size, granting them increased strength and power when the situation demands it. However, this swollen trait does come at a cost, slightly lowering their agility and affecting their ability to evade attacks.
