Homebrew Tabaxi Halfling Species Details

Tabaxi Halflings are begrudgingly adorable little humanoids that are usually the result of the coupling of a Halfling and a Tabaxi. Though varied people in both attitude and appearance, many Tabaxi Halflings are sensitive when it comes to their height. Some use it to their advantage and use their small and adorable stature to manipulate or gain favor with people. Others have a short temper when it comes to height jokes, and are likely to swipe out with their lethal claws if you say the wrong thing. In some lands, Tabaxi Halflings live like the cats they resemble, naturally curious and at home in playful environments. In other places, Tabaxi Halflings live more as Halflings, unintentionally hiding their feline nature.

Tabaxi Halfling's resemble adorable humanoid kittens with coats usually patterned similarly to their Tabaxi parent's. Some have features or patterning in their fur like tigers, jaguars, or other big cats, while others have appearances more like a house cat. Still others have unique patterns or might style their fur to their preferences—or might even be hairless!

Languages

You can speak, read, and write Common and Halfling. The Halfling language isn’t secret, but halflings are loath to share it with others. They write very little, so they don’t have a rich body of literature. Their oral tradition, however, is very strong. Almost all halflings speak Common to converse with the people in whose lands they dwell or through which they are traveling.

Life Span

Tabaxi Halflings reach adulthood around age 24 and live a bit longer than the average human, the oldest one being recorded to have lived to their 200th birthday. A full-blood halfling reaches adulthood at the age of 20 and generally lives into the middle of his or her second century, while full-blood Tabaxi only live to be about a century old.

You can use your claws to make unarmed strikes. When you hit with them, the strike deals 1d4 + your Strength modifier slashing damage, instead of the bludgeoning damage normal for an unarmed strike.

Darkvision

You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light and in darkness as if it were dim light. You discern colors in that darkness only as shades of gray.

Zoomies

Your reflexes and agility allow you to move with a burst of speed. When you move on your turn in combat, you can double your speed until the end of the turn. Once you use this trait, you can’t use it again until you move 0 feet on one of your turns.
