Homebrew Chronos Templar Species Details

Fate, Time, and Destiny. These ideas and philosophies are what defines a Chronos Templar. They are Grim Reapers, in a sense, delivering the Timekeeper’s justice throughout the world. They exist within the fine line between the mortal world and the ethereal, the Gods never able to touch their creation, which are now man’s arbitrators.

These Templars are all made within a blue crystal, their body forming around it as the crystal finds its way within the collarbone of their physical forms. They stand at around 6-7 feet tall and can be male or female. They have jet black hair and pupils with pale skin that is lined with ink and tattoos. Usually garbed in dark robes with golden accessories, the Templars are ghastly in their appearance as to clearly differentiate themselves with the many races of man. However, this does not mean they are incapable of earthly feelings. After all, they were once mortal too.

Every Templar is given their own vein of Time, connected to the eternally flowing paths of the future and past, and with this comes their weapons. With their choice, they can find their blades, binding themselves to it through a ritual dictated by the Timekeeper. Once a bond is made, it cannot be shattered unless the Templar’s body is destroyed. Firalne.

Through meditation, this link can be regained, and with it comes greater power. Their weapons can turn into ink filled brushes, painting this world with their art of Life and Death. Sicolne. Even further can one go, etching their vein with the whispers of their mind and they will finalize their canvas. Futura.

(IF YOU PLAN ON USING THIS RACE, IT GOES WITH THE CHRONOS TEMPLAR SUBCLASS.)

Chronos Templar Traits

Chronos Templars bend reality to their will. At least relatively.

Air Walk

Using concentration, go up to 20ft into the air using your realm warping abilities. With the use of concentration, you cannot use spells during your stride in the skies, and you must make a CON save when hit to stay in the air.

A Deity's Endurance

Templars have been known to possess enough strength to split hills in half with their weapons. They are a cut above the rest and are granted +2 to STR and +1 to DEX.

Unnatural Body

A Chronos Templar lives between the boundaries of time and reality, giving them a state of agelessness, or in other words, immortality. Only in the sense of being eternally youthful.

This part of them allows them to defy death, at least once, giving them the 'Undying Breath' ability.

When the Templar fails a final Death Save, they have the option to reroll it, however if they fail that roll as well, they must make a CON save (The DC is the remainder of their fail. If they fail with a 9, they must roll higher than an 11). On failure, the Templar ceases to exist. If they succeed, the Templar returns to the world of the living with 1 Hit Point.

Spiritual Awareness

Search for their rotted vines and seek to lop them from the eternal tree of time. Let out an icy breath into the air, sensing the exact amount of evil auras around you within a 60ft radius. However, at a radius of 120 feet, you can feel their presence, but not the exact amount or direction.
