Homebrew Zombie Species Details
You are a zombie. Risen from a lifeless corpse and made into a fleshy automaton. Your intelligence is lacking, but your numb body makes up for it in constitution.
Zombie Traits
Here are the banes and boones that your rotting form grantsZombie Strike
Your undead hunger presses you fourth to continue fighting, reguardless of how strong or weak you are. As an action, you may make an unarmed melee attack on something/someone within 5 feet of you using your Constitution modifier. On a hit, you deal bludgeoning damage equal to 1d6+1.
Rotting Mind and Body
Your body is either withered or rotted. Your mind may have actually decayed, or simply become clouded if you are a fresher corpse.
Frightening Visage
Your rotting face does not make you one for looks... or words. You have disadvantage on all charisma checks, but advantage and expertise on intimidation and similar checks - at the Game Master's discretion - when you use your frightening visage to scare others.
Stagnant Hemostasis
You should no longer be standing... It is through either magical means, or some apocalyptic disease that your body is able to function. As such you are immune to poison.
Mute
You understand the languages you knew in life, but cannot speak; Either your mind is too addled, or your vocal cords and mouth no longer work properly. You may be capable of casting the verbal components of some spells at the Game Master's discretion by groaning, or by echoing some unknowable undead language. However, you must otherwise find a new method to complete the verbal component of spells.
Undead Hunger
Your condition has afflicted you with a taste for the living. Only living or freshly killed flesh will sate you. Your character can drink and eat other foods, but only living flesh can sustain your vile false lifeforce. Failing to do so will hurt your character. In order to hunt your meals your eyes have become super focused on creatures, granting you Darkvision of up to 60 ft.
Undead Fortitude
The magic or apocalyptic disease that keeps your vile body running forces you to push through deadly damage. If damage reduces you to 0 hit points, you must make a Constitution saving throw with a DC of 5+the damage taken, unless the damage is radiant or from a critical hit. On a success, you drop to 1 hit point instead.
