Homebrew Ausaur Species Details
Ausaurs travel throughout the multiverse and trace their origins to many different realms. The Ausaurs presented here hail from the Shadowfell and hold a connection with the unnatural world. From the waist up, they resemble humans, displaying all the human varieties of skin tone. The only variation is that they have wolf ears atop their head. From the waist down, they have the bodies of massive wolves.

Creature Type
Ausaurs hail from the Shadowfell, and are classified as a Beast. They hold the subtype of a Shadow due to their unnatural origins.
Life Span
The typical life span of an Ausaur can range from 100 to nearly 700 years, depending on their environment. The more magically saturated their environment, the longer their life span.
Height and Weight
Ausaurs typically reach around 6-7ft tall, and around 300 lbs.
Ausaur Traits
As an Ausaur, you have the following racial traits.Creature Type
You are a Beast (Subtype of 'shadow' due to Shadowfell origin).
Size
Your size is Medium.
Speed
Your walking speed is 40 feet.
Charge
If you move at least 30 feet straight toward a target and then hit it with a melee weapon attack on the same turn, you can immediately follow that attack with a bonus action, making one attack against the target with your paws.
Tauric Build
You count as one size larger when determining your carrying capacity and the weight you can push or drag.
In addition, any climb that requires hands and feet is especially difficult for you because of your tauric build. When you make such a climb, each foot of movement costs you 4 extra feet instead of the normal 1 extra foot.
However, you cannot be affected by difficult terrain caused by undergrowth or uneven ground.
Paws
You have paws that you can use to make unarmed strikes. When you hit with them, the strike deals 1d6 + your Strength modifier slashing damage, instead of the bludgeoning damage normal for an unarmed strike.
Unnatural Affinity
Your connection to nature gives you an intuitive connection to the unnatural world and the creatures within it. You therefore have proficiency in one of the following skills of your choice: Animal Handling, Medicine, Nature, or Survival.
