Homebrew Beldam Magus Species Details

They are the Slavic beings of wixen heritage, the only of the wixen to survive. In the mother tongue they are known as Чума Русалка or Čuma Rusalka but they give the term Beldam Magus to those of the outside. They have magic and ritual in their very blood.

Magic Features

This includes any feature that provides “racial spellcasting” or cantrips, any sort of spell like ability, and anything else that feels intrinsically magical.

Pounce

Your kind are acutely adept at pouncing upon your opponent and confirming the kill. If you move at least 20 feet straight toward a creature and then hit it with a melee attack on the same turn, you can attempt to knock the creature prone with a shove as part of the attack. If you successfully knock the creature prone you may immediately make another melee attack as a bonus action. Once you use this trait, you can’t use it again until you finish a short rest.

Physical Characteristics

Attributes like height, weight, and special features. A race with wings, for example, would have different mobility options, societal norms, and perhaps even architectural styles to accommodate their anatomy.

Origin

The Beldam Magus are merely what remains of the Wixen. The Wixen were quite reverse, a species more-so than a race. The species was once humans, the godess Hecate created the them, the Triquerta: Harridan Magus (Irish), Jinx Magus (Czech), and Beldam Magus (Russian). Evolving species of sub-humans depending on their environmental factors, they came to this plane from Earth in 1908 (earth year) and 276 (new year). The Jinx were extinct by 379 and the Harridan by 1203.

World Integration

Most stay to themselves, never leaving their secret settlements in isolated lands-- merely a myth to the rest of society. While others lie and present themselves as humans.
