Homebrew Displacer Tabaxi Species Details

A bipedal creature resembling a tabaxi, with alterations more closely resembling a displacer beast. Not allot is known about these beings, but there are many rumors about their origins; highly evolved displacer beasts at the edge of the feywilds, experiments on tabaxi or displacer beasts to create a "perfect lifeform", a tabaxi cursed by a Great Old One or some other eldritch horror, maybe even mixed relations between displacer beasts & tabaxi. Whatever the case, these creatures are cunning, silent, & skilled warriors.

Displacer Tabaxi Traits

As a displacer tabaxi, you have the following racial traits.

Creature Type

You are a Monstrocity.

Size

You are Medium.

Speed

Your walking speed is 30 feet, and you have a climbing speed equal to your walking speed.

Displacer Tendrils

You can use your tentacles to make unarmed strikes within 10ft. When you hit with them, the strike deals 1d4 + your Strength modifier slashing damage, instead of the bludgeoning damage normal for an unarmed strike. On a hit, you may grapple the target.

Feline's Talent

You have proficiency in the Perception and Stealth skills.

Darkvision

You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light and in darkness as if it were dim light. You discern colors in that darkness only as shades of gray.

Displacement Origins

You have a second pair of arms. These arms are fully functional, capable of grappling, holding items, opening doors, etc. You also have 2 tentacles that are retractable & have a range of 10ft, but they are less capable in fine motor skills such as holding or operating smaller items.

Furthermore, at 3rd level you learn Blur & it does not count as a spell from your spell list. You may cast it once without expending a spell slot. After casting it this way, you must take a long rest to cast it again this way, or you may cast it using a level 2 or higher spellslot. When you cast Blur, you do not require a verbal component.
