Homebrew Yudine Species Details

“From dust they arrived into this world, and to dust they will leave.” An unnamed traveller exclaimed. Hidden in the bushes, he could see a glimmering creature that had only been talked about before. Mesmerized by the sight, he forgot that the individual could see him too.

Yudines are astral beings of outherworldly grace, living in this place, but also in space. They live in everywhere and nowhere, in the midst of ancient forests or in a big town full of people, where soft music drifts through the air and gentle fragrances waft on the breeze. Yudines love nature and stars, art, music and poetry, and the good things of the world.

Tall and Astral

With their unearthly grace and fine features, Yudines appear beautiful to humans and members of many other races. They are taller than humans on average, ranging from well around 6 feet tall to just over 7 feet. Their more humanoid form tends to look like a slightly more slender human, with their weight being around 135 to 165 in pounds. Despite their not being any genital their real form, sexes somewhat exist since some will take a more masculine form and other a more feminine form, their sexe can technically also be established by what their humanoid form possesses.

Yudines coloration goes way further than it would for the normal human range and instead would look like galaxy if they happened to be seen by a creature which could comprehend their appearance, this is why they often take on a more humanoid apperance, somewhat ressembling a human, while not fully. Yudines have no facial and no body hair in their real form, that being said, their more human form does possess a very small amount of hair. In their human-ish form, they favor elegant clothing in colors such as yellow, black, white, gray, and a little of purple. Two somewhat facial traits which they possess would be the two sets of horns which they possess, one small pair at the front of their head, and a big one above their head. The last unnamed trait they have would be the halo ring around their head which usually presents itself with spikes to represent the sun's corona.

A Chronically Linked Life

Yudines can live to over billions of years old, giving them a broad perspective on events that might trouble the shorter-lived races more deeply, their lifetime being linked to a star. They are more often facinated by the world and it's people than anything else, and more likely to be curious than greedy. They tend to remain calm and collected even during periods of danger. When pursuing a goal whether that goal is a certain adventure, a mission, or even learning a new skill or art, Yudines can be focused and relentless. They are slow to make friends and enemies due to being mostly knowing the kind of person someone is from behavior alone, and even slower at forgetting people who they got close to. They prefer to not reply when insults are given due to it not being worth the time of day.

Like a young star, Yudines can very rapidely grow and adapt to circumstances. They trust only themselves and the people close to them to resolve differences before they escalate to violence. But when the need arises, Yudines reveal an extremely charged knowledge in fighting, demonstrating skill with sword, bow, and strategy.

Exploration and Adventure

Yudines take up adventuring out of curosity about the world. Since they are so close to immortal in terms of how long their life lasts, they can enjoy millenias of exploration and discovery. They quite enjoy how different the pace of human society is compared to theirs, which is regimented from day to day but constantly changing over decades, so they sometimes find careers that they like and end up working with them out of pure will. Yudines also enjoy growing their magical power, and adventuring allows them to do find certain ways to do so. Some might join with rebels fighting against oppression due to them being supposed to be protectors, and others sometimes become great evil as they grow a lust for power while growing it.

HAUGHTY BUT GRACIOUS

While not being quite developped themselves, not even having their own cities or stuff of the kind, they find that their many years of living makes them good judges on the commonly known races.

Dwarves. “Dwarves are little brutes. They kinda lack in humor, sophistication, and manners, but mostly manners. Though, I must admit, their best smiths produce art.”

Halflings. “Halflings are people of simplicity, and that is not a bad thing. They’re good folk, they actually care for one another and tend to their gardens, and they have proven themselves tougher than they seem when the need arises.”

Humans. “All that haste, their ambition and drive to accomplish something before their brief lives pass away—human endeavors seem so futile sometimes. But then you look at what they have accomplished, and you have to appreciate their achievements. If they could slow down and learn some refinement, they might be even better.”

Elves. “Always thinking of themselves as better due to a long life cycle, they never remember that they also have a limit on their life. They feel as if better than everyone and lack in usefulness when you take away the magic they cherish so much.”

Yudines Names

Yudines are considered children until they reach a millenia of age, and before this period they are referred to as dwarf stars.

Despite aging for a long time like elves, they don't use the same way of naming their people. Instead, they are assigned a name at birth, which they will keep forever. Family names do not exist because reproduction is impossible for them to do. Yudines names are always something about outer space, galaxies, stars, or even moons. Their name usually are usually a word of the previously mentionned options, but in Celestial.
