bee it through the gift of a divine being or random chance, somehow a swarm of bees gained sentience as well as a complete hive mind and decided to join the ranks of elves, orcs and dwarves in adventuring. your swarm equals your hitpoint multiplied by 2, so a beeswarm barbarian at 1st level with a CON mod of +2 would have 28 bees (28=(12+2)x2). people do not see you as a threat, more as an annoyance than anything. your size increases with the number of bees that inhabit your swarm, when you have 200 bees your size becomes small, at 400 bees your size becomes medium. you have no language but can telepathically communicate to anyone within 120 feet of you in common and one other language. the more damage you take, the smaller your swarm becomes.

Beeswarm Traits

bees are versatile creatures, and have many abilities

Stingers

sacrifice members of your swarm to aid in combat. as an action, you can sting your opponent into submission. however, bees only sting once in their life before they die. roll 1D4 and that many bees x2 (2 bees per hit point) make stinging attacks, sacrificing themselves for the greater good, or greater evil, depending on the swarm. each bee (up to 8) makes an unarmed strike, dealing one damage on a success and dying either way.

make honey

during a long rest, the bee swarm disperses into their individual bees, gathering nectar to create honey. every long rest, if you are in a forest area or an area with a sufficient amount of flowers, you can make a nature check (DC10) to create one days rations worth of honey, about one jar's worth.

ability score increase

bees are agile, +2 to your DEX score

insectoid weakness

despite being able to lift their own weight, a greatsword is still too much for a lesser swarm to carry. if your swarm is fewer than 200 bees you cannot use a weapon with the heavy property, and if your swarm is fewer than 300 strong you have disadvantage on all attacks with heavy weapons.
