Homebrew Alice's Kitsunes Species Details

Kitsunes are spirit foxes that have special mystical abilities that they aquire during the years, they can, for example, shape shift into different animals or humans or they can even take the form of another living being as perfect copies.

They like doing antics and most are known for being quite deceitful and wise, the older ones are said to be masters of illusions.

They mature at a same age than humans, but they are inmortal, which means that they can live for centuries and even to the millennia. This foxes grow a tail every 100 years, they can have up to 9 (or more if they reach the millennia).

Their true forms are as multi tailed foxes (they can be any type of fox species) their fur is usually white or similar to that of silver foxes, but the player can choose whatever fur color and patterns they dessire.

The player can choose to be a human or a hybrid (human with fox characteristics) if they want, the attributes are shared between the forms and they only change if the player becomes another animal or another person.

Shape shifting

You can change between your normal forms (a feral/quadrupedal fox o an anthropomorphic/bipedal fox) or into different animals or humanoids you have seen at will, you don't need to cast any spell to do so.

Your true identity can be discovered through your shadows and your reflections (they always resemble your quadrupedal or bipedal fox form), your shadow gets smaller or bigger depending on what you turned into.

You can make your equipment to merge into your form, or wearing it, you may or may not be able to use, for example, a sword or a bow as a feral fox, but maybe you could use a dagger at your dm's discretion.

Your abilities change to that of the chosen specie's, but your intelligence, wisdom and charisma do not change.

If shape shifting takes an action or not is at your dm's discretion.

Speak with animals

You can speak with all the animals without having to use any spell.

This doesn't considers humanoid made languages, you have to learn those.

Evasive

You add your strength modifier as a bonus on all Dexterity saving throws.

Adaptation to different environments

Your can get 2 extra points in one attribute and an extra point to another one.

Dark vision

You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light.

 

Biting

You can use your sharp teeth to bite your opponent, you add your proficiency bonus to it.
