A Hidden People

The Aerugo are a race of humanoid moth-people. they live in silvery temples hidden deep in the beauty of nature; in a thick tranquil forest, on a mountain surrounded by a sea of clouds, a lonely cliff where the sunset glows a radiant amber and fades a deep purple. The Aerugo pride themselves on their philosophical and arcane studies and love to explore abstract or speculative theories and concepts. They eat a Primarily Vegan Diet, but can still eat other, smaller insects such as Beatles, Grasshoppers, and Larva.

Assortment of Colors and Patterns

Aerugo are very majestical in appearance, each Aerugo prides themselves on their individually unique wing patterns and colors. In Aerugo culture some colors and patterns have distinct meanings and are said to be a kind of prophecy of their lives, personality, and prowess, very similar to a Horoscope. Aerugo are only slightly taller than humans ranging from just over 5 feet tall to a couple inches below 7 feet. and weigh 100 to 160 pounds. Aerugo can live for over 700 years even Rivaling the lifespan of the Elves. and although reclusive at first Aerugo have a natural sense of curiosity and adventure.

A Right of Passage

When an Aerugo reaches physical maturity, typically around the age of 50, they are required to leave the village and embark on a journey to explore the world. This journey serves as a rite of passage, and they are only allowed to return to the village after they have explored all the world has to offer or achieve something great or accomplish a significant feat. these journeys can typically last anywhere from 40 to 70 years. after completing their mission, they can come and go from the village at their own will, some Aerugo even choosing to live outside the village indefinitely.
