Homebrew Blighted Species Details
Creatures who survived have become hostile. But the blighted have been able to show some promise. Many people affected are still no longer the same, and neither are the kin they create. . . if they are able to create kin.
300 years ago, the Smoke Blight persisted and changed much of the land. And these beings reflect much of that.
Life of mutations
The blight looks different for each person. But much of the outwards features resemble a sickly or burning nature. One might be able to hide these traits, but only if they so choose. But no matter what, breathing feels hot and sometimes feels like a burning sensation in your throat and lungs. There are ways to ease this of course, at a hefty price.

You have resistance to either fire, poison, or psychic damage depending on your affliction.
Unknown Affliction
There will be three options/"subraces", choose one of them. Your spellcasting ability can either be wisdom or intelligence.
Burned Affliction:
You know the Control Flames cantrip. At 3rd level, you can cast Burning Hands (which takes on the form of smoke instead of fire) as a 2nd level "spell" once. After finishing a long rest, you may regain this ability. At 5th level, you know the spell Enhance Ability. You can only use this ability on yourself, but it does not require the use of a material component. You may use this once per day, finishing a long rest to regain the spell. You cannot cast this ability at higher levels.
Toxic Affliction:
You know the Poison Spray cantrip. At 3rd level, you can cast Ray of Sickness as a 2nd level "spell" once. After finishing a long rest, you may regain this ability. At 5th level, you know the spell Enhance Ability. You can only use this ability on yourself, but it does not require the use of a material component. You may use this once per day, finishing a long rest to regain the spell. You cannot cast this ability at higher levels.
Psychic Affliction:
You know the Mind Sliver cantrip. At 3rd level, you can cast Dissonant Whispers as a 2nd level "spell" once. After finishing a long rest, you may regain this ability. At 5th level, you know the spell Enhance Ability. You can only use this ability on yourself, but it does not require the use of a material component. You may use this once per day, finishing a long rest to regain the spell. You cannot cast this ability at higher levels.
Darkvision
Within 60 feet, you see dim light as bright light and darkness as dim light. Color cannot be discerned in darkness.
Ability Score Increase
An ability score of your choice increases by 2. Another ability score of your choice increases by 1.
Age
Because the blighted are beings infected, whatever race they were born as is the age range they will take on.
Size
Your size is medium.
Speed
Your base walking speed is 30 feet.
Languages
You can speak, read, and write Common and one extra language of your choice.
